Actor Sivakarthikeyan celebrated a milestone moment at the Filmfare Awards on Saturday, winning Best Actor for his performance in Amaran and reflecting on his inspiring journey.

During his acceptance speech, the actor shared a heartfelt memory from his early career. He revealed that the first time he attended the Filmfare Awards was 13 years ago with Dhanush, who had invited him casually just to enjoy the event.

“This Filmfare Award is my very first award. Back then, I was seated in the second row. It took me 13 years to move from the second row to the first row and receive this award,” he said, earning loud applause from the audience.

Sivakarthikeyan also expressed joy in receiving the honour from actress Simran, calling himself a longtime admirer of her performances and dance, while appreciating her efforts in adapting to Tamil cinema.

Thanking audiences and fans, the actor said he was grateful for being accepted in a serious role despite his strong comedy image. He added that his fans’ constant support, especially during challenging phases, continues to motivate him.

Directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, Amaran featured Sivakarthikeyan as Major Mukund Varadarajan alongside Sai Pallavi and emerged as both a critical and commercial success.
