The shoot of Thalaivar 173 is set to commence from mid-April, director Cibi Chakaravarthi announced at the Thaai Kizhavi release event.

The film marks Superstar Rajinikanth’s first collaboration with Cibi and is being produced by Kamal Haasan under Raaj Kamal Films International. Tipped to be an action entertainer with strong family elements, the project is expected to showcase the actor’s fun-filled, lighter side after a long gap.

Music for the film will be composed by Anirudh Ravichander, while a popular Malayalam actor is also said to play a key role. Scheduled for a grand Pongal 2027 release, Thalaivar 173 will be Cibi Chakaravarthi’s second directorial venture after Don (2022).
