Gangai Amaren says his Anirudh-SPB meme isn't a dig on Petta song Marana Mass!

ICYMI, Rajinikanth's upcoming film Petta had a first single release recently and the 'Kuththu number' Marana Mass became an instant chart-buster. However, a section of the music listeners were dejected about singer SP Balasubrahmanyam's short stint in the song and they did not hold back from expressing their dismay on twitter (read here).

Veteran singer-composer Gangai Amaren, who also happens to be good friends with both Rajinikanth and SPB, was one of these dejected fans, especially since the Rajini-SPB combo was at its peak during Amaren's hey days.
But ever since he put up a meme, a section of the twitterati have taken offense to Amaren's view-point and have accused him of putting down Anirudh or not knowing the logic behind SPB's vocals getting limited time in the song.

Gangai Amaren, who himself comes from a family of musicians (he is the younger brother of Ilayaraja, uncle to Karthik Raja, Yuvan Shankar Raja and father of actor-composer Premji Amaren) sent out this tweet to put an end to these accusations and said:
"I listened to the song with the excitement of my friend (SPB) giving vocals again for my good friend Rajini. Super, the song was a riot..But if the full song had been sung by SPB, the it would have reached heights, words cannot describe. Anirudh didn't sing it wrong. It is nice only..But?"
