Dhanush's starrer Maari 2 is gearing up for release in December. The film has completed the censor formalities and has been given 'U/A' certificate by CBFC. The film also starring Sai Pallavi, Krishna, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Tovino Thomas and Robot Shankar is directed by Balaji Mohan. Dhanush shared the news on his Twitter page.

Maari 2 is a sequel to 2015 gangster comedy film Maari. Dhanush played a local thug with an affinity for pigeons. Yuvan Shankar Raja has composed the music of this movie produced by Wunderbar Films.
