Sarkar rules TN and Chennai Box Office

Sarkar which hit the screens on Diwali has been raking in the moolah at the Box despite controversies. The film has minted over Rs. 135+ cr at the Domestic Box Office and around Rs. 194+ cr worldwide and is inching closer towards Rs. 200 cr mark . Vijay’s film has touched Rs. 100 cr mark in TamilNadu alone. In Chennai City, it has grossed Rs. 10.77 cr in 6 days. The film has dominated Chennai Box Office this weekend with more than 70% of the theatres screening Sarkar.

Sarkar achieves break-even in AP / TG , falters in Kerala.

The film has crossed Rs. 10 cr mark in its neigbouring states Kerala, Andhra Pradesh & Telangana and Karnataka. In AP / TG the film has achieved the break-even mark by earning a share of Rs. 7.5 cr which is the total distribution price in the state for various territories. The film which saw a humongous start in its opening day in Kerala with Rs. 6.6 cr has witnessed a huge drop from its second day and it has managed to collect around Rs. 11 cr in its opening weekend.

Sarkar Overseas Box Office - Vijay's film does phenomenal business

The film has done phenomenal business at the overseas market as well especially in USA, Australia, Singapore, Gulf countries, Malaysia and Srilanka. In USA, the film is inching towards $1 million mark. It has grossed more than 5+ cr in Singapore (crossing 1 million S$ mark) and Sri Lanka.  At the overseas market, the film has grossed around Rs. 45+ cr excluding Malaysia which is estimated to have collected over Rs. 12+ cr in its opening weekend.

The film having entered into its second week, the trade in now more focused on the film achieving break-even or entering profit zone in various territories across the globe. The second week revenue becomes very crucial to determine the film's performance in the coming days. However, Sarkar can continue its run at the Box Office sans any stiff completion till the release of Superstar Rajinkanth's 2.0 which is set to hit the screens on November 29, 2018.
