Me Too India: After Aamir Khan & Bhushan Kumar, Ekta Kapoor drops director Subhash Kapoor!

Only yesterday, one of Bollywood's big guns Aamir Khan sent out a big message by dropping out of producing Mogul, which was to be directed by Subhash Kapoor who is known for films like Phas Gaye Rae Obama, Jolly LLB series and was slated for directing the third Munnabhai film as well.

Later Mogul's co-producer Bhushan Kumar of T-series, on whose father the film was based had also stated that his company has dropped Subhash as the Mogul's director.

Now, producer Ekta Kapoor of Balaji Telefilms has reportedly followed suit in the event of the MeToo allegations against the said director and has dropped him from directing her upcoming web-series, The Verdict.

Reports quote a member from the production house to have stated, "Subhash(Kapoor) was integral to the system, but she (Ekta Kapoor) has decided to support the survivor. Till the criminal proceedings on Subhash continue, Balaji won't work with him."

To the uninitiated, actress Geethika Tyagi who had first accused Subhash of sexual misconduct in 2014 re-opened the topic in the light of the recent Me Too and Times Up upsurge in India. Currently, their case is in the court of law.

While Subhash has maintained that he will prove his innocence at court, he has taken objection to the video from 2014 which shows a confrontation among Shubash, his wife and Geethika and the actress slapping the director.
