Siva Karthikeyan is one of the the most bankable actors in Kollywood as most of his films have turned out to be extremely successful at the box office. His latest outing Seema Raja hasn't fared well at the Box Office and has turned out to be the actor's first failure in his rising career.
The hugely anticipated Seema Raja starring Siva Karthikeyan and Samantha in the lead role directed by Ponram hit the screens worldwide on September 13. The film opened to mixed reviews from the audience and critics alike. The film which had a thunderous start at the Box Office in its opening weekend, faced considerable drop with gradual decrease in business. Apart from Tamil Nadu, the film has been pulled out of theatres elsewhere. Seema Raja marks Siva Karthikeyan's first ever flop movie in his career.
Seema Raja has grossed Rs. 46 cr in TN in 18 days and Rs. 4.85 cr in Chennai city. The film has grossed Rs. 62 cr worldwide. The film's theatrical rights in TN were sold for Rs. 30 cr. The nett share is estimated to be around Rs. 25 cr in TN and around Rs. 33 cr worldwide. Seema Raja has apparently turned out to be a loss venture for distributors across all territories in both domestic and overseas market.
