Dhanush's Maari 2 to release on this date?

 

If the industry buzz is anything to go by then director Balaji Mohan's Maari 2, which is a sequel to the 2015 hit masala venture Maari is planning to release on December 21, 2018, making full use of the Christmas weekend. However, an official announcement on the same is yet to be made by the makers. 

Actor Dhanush is also gearing up for a release each in the coming months - Vada Chennai on October 17, 2018 and Enai Noki Payyum Thota in November, 2018 (for Diwali) and word has it that the December release is planned, so that he could move on to fresh acting projects in the new year. In the meantime, Dhanush will be seen helming his second film as director with Sri Thenandal Films.  

Touted to be a gangster comedy, Maari 2 will see Robo Shankar and Kalloori Vinoth reviving their characters as Dhanush's sidekicks, while new additions to the franchise include Sai Pallavi, Krishna, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and Tovino Thomas among others. Recently actor Krishna updated about completing dubbing for the movie while also sharing pictures with his director.
