No Takers for Ra.One (Tamil)

It will be a question whether Ra.One (Tamil) will recover the cost of dubbing and distribution rights bought for TN and Kerala markets. The much touted Rajni sequence has come in for a lot of criticism. Since most of the fans who were interested in watching the movie just for Rajni could not resist their eagerness when the clipping of one minute cameo of Rajni became available on Youtube and social networking sites.

After watching the scene, fans were disappointed as Rajni's magic was totally missing. One of the fans commented that the entire scene came across as silly and felt that it was even insulting for unexplained reasons. Some questioned whether the walk of a body-double was merged with Rajni's face. A few other keen observers noticed that Chitti's costume used in Enthiran did not even fit Rajni nicely probably because Thalaivar may have lost lots of weight when he was unwell. Overall, the scene totally missed the point on what makes Rajni click with his fans. 

Ra.One Box Office Performance 

Also, the movie in Hindi and Tamil has come in for mixed reactions with many first day viewers claiming that it was like watching a Play station video game. The trade was shocked to see that Ra.One will not set a new first day record as the final day collections are off especially in North and Central India with some circuits are 50% short of Bodyguard while others are similar. Bodyguard collected 20.60 crore nett on day one and Ra.One will stay well below that even if the dubbed Tamil and Telegu versions collections are added to the collections of the Hindi version.
