A while ago, Lyca Productions, a banner best known as the producers of one of the India's highly anticipated films 2.0, made an announcement saying that they will next be seen remaking a Pawan Kalyan film titled Attarintiki Daredi in Tamil and that they have roped in actor Simbu (STR) and director Sundar. C for the same. Latest on this project is that actress Megha Akash who is already a part of Enai Noki Payyum Thotta, Boomerang and Rajinikanth's untitled film in Tamil has been roped in as the female lead. 

Reportedly, the team will begin shooting at Hyderabad by the end of September, 2018, while an official announcement on the same is expected to be made soon.

AttarintikiDaredi is a 2013 hit comedy-drama about a grandson trying to reconcile his aunt and his family with his grandfather. The movie was originally written and directed by Trivikram Srinivas and featured Samantha as the female lead.
