During the audio launch of upcoming Tamil movie Peranbu,  director of the movie, the National award winning Ram claimed that the team has plans of releasing the film in China as well, a country where no Tamil film has released before. If Peranbu manages to hit the Chinese market, it will be the second South Indian film after Baahubali to do so. [The Rajamouli directed war epic opened to a lukewarm response earlier this year and at that time it was predicted that the Chinese audience prefer more slice-of-life films (like Peranbu) from India]. 

Produced by P.L. Thenappan under Shree Raja Lakshmi Films, Peranbu (Resurrection in English)  has Mammootty playing the lead, and also features Anjali, Samuthirakani, Livingston, Vadivukkarasi, Aruldoss among others in important roles. The technical crew of this film includes Yuvan Shankar Raja for music, Theni Easwar for cinematography and Sreekar Prasad for the edits.
