Movies This Week: Ranbir Kapoor starrer Sanju steals the show!

From biopics to friendly comedies to revenge thrillers, this week's movie releases have been a vast mix to be chosen from. A look into which one fared well enough and which one did not:

Actor director Sasikumar has managed to impress his viewers with this extremely well written revenge thriller. A cat and mouse game between a man and his tormentor is what forms the basic plot of this film and word on the street is that the film has done good or so reflect the film's ratings, which is a 60% in MovieCrow's barometer. With a concept similar to Kamal Haasan's Panchathanthiram, Atharvaa Murali's Semma Botha Aagatha might not have had a chance to hit the audience with something new. But it did have them laughing to the jokes from the movie though that has not been enough for the viewers to give their approval. Semma Botha Aagatha has managed to garner only a 44% in our movie ratings. (Review Here)

A Rajkumar Hirani style biopic on the life of Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt, Sanju has everyone raving about Ranbir Kapoor's performance in the movie. Given Kapoor's acting chops, this doesn't come as a surprise but coupled with a good and engaging presentation, the movie  is winning hearts all over and stands tall with a 75% in our movie ratings. (Review Here)

Ee Nagaraniku Emaindi (Telugu)
If you loved watching films like Dil Chahta Hai and Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, you would enjoy Ee Nagaraniku Emaindi too. The film is about four friends taking off to Goa and pretty much portrays their journey along the way. Feel-good movies are always a welcome with the viewers (especially if it comes from the director of Pellichoopulu) and Ee Nagaraniku Emaindi seems to have hit the right note in that aspect.

Inba Twinkle Lilly (ITLY) (Tamil)
ITLY or Inba Twinkle Lily is a comic caper about three women (Saranya Ponvannan, Kovai Sarala and the late actress Kalpana) deciding to rob a bank when bankruptcy hits their own lives. A relatively lesser known release this week, the movie has not lived upto expectations, despite its strong comic cast.
