Despite Kamal Haasan indicating that it will be a while before he begins Indian 2  with director Shankar, developments about the film do not cease to crop up. If one may recall, at the beginning of this year, it was widely speculated that Lady superstar Nayanthara is one of the front runners to play female lead in Indian 2. Though there has been no official word on this aspect ever since, a source close to the film's unit informs MovieCrow that Nayanthara is indeed on board and it is only a matter of time before the team announces the same.

It is worth mentioning here that this will be Nayanthara's first collabortation with both Kamal and Shankar. Lyca Productions will be seen producing Indian 2, which will have music by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography by Ravi Varman, art by T. Muthuraj and lyrics by Thamarai. Lyricist Kabilan Vairamuthu will be seen penning the dialogues for this film along with Jeyamohan and comic actor Vadivelu will reportedly be seen in an important role in the movie.
