Mersal spoke better politics than Kaala: S.A. Chandrasekar takes a subtle dig at Pa. Ranjith!

In a recent interview for his film Traffic Ramasamy, actor S.A. Chandrasekar (SAC) who will be seen playing the titular role of this foctional biopic was seen talking about social responsibilities, politics and films and ended up comparing his son Vijay's last release Mersal (which was subject to target by the BJP for it contained infactual dialogues pertaining to the government) and Rajinikanth's last release Kaala, a film which many interpreted to be director Pa.Ranjith's jab at the BJP using Rajinikanthwho is inturn popularly considered to be a BJP mascot in Tamil Nadu (though it has factually never been confirmed). Comparing the two films which were clearly politically laden, SAC said,

“If Kaala and Mersal are to be compared, I would personally appreciate the director (Atlee) and the writer (Atlee, K.V. Viayendra Prasad, Ramana Girivasan) of Mersal. Because at anytime conveying good things in a subtle manner showcases the talent of a director."

Needless to say, this inturn of a subtle dig at Pa. Ranjith by the veteran actor-director was quickly picked by the online populace and people have started reacting to it. SAC was also seen defending his actor son's choice to visit the anti-sterlite protest victims and said,

“Vijay is more informed about politics than me, his recent visit to Tuticorin is an act of humanity and it’s sad that a few people calling it as a political move.”
