Prakash Raj calls out Kamal Haasan for his statement Kaala's release

Rajinikanth starrer Kaala which is hitting theatre screens on June 7, 2018 is facing a ban in Karnataka over Rajini's statement on the Cauvery issue which many Kannadigas including actor Prakash Raj are felt 'hurt' by. So when actor Kamal Haasan met the newly appointed CM of Karnataka to 'smoothen relationships' between the two states, people were curious to know if Kamal discussed about lifting the ban on 'his good friend' Rajinikanth's film. Kamal Haasan, however maintained that it was 'unnecessary' to being up the Kaala issue with HD Kumaraswamy and said,

Not a word was spoken about that. There are film chambers and business community who will take care of it (Kaala issue)..we will see that good relationship exists between both the states..This is more important than movies if you ask me.

Prakash Raj though agreeing to Rajini's statements hurting Kannadigas' sentiments had appealed through his twitter page for letting the film release in the state(read Prakash Raj's statement for Kaala here). He also called out the inaction on Kamal Haasan's side and was quoted by the media as saying, "He (Kamal Haasan) says he has his own reason not to take up, but when his ‘Vishwaroopam’ was banned, he wanted everyone to stand with him. But I feel it is my responsibility and we cannot let this happen to any film,"
