Maari 2 starring Dhanush, Sai Pallavi and Varalakshmi Sarathkumar is directed by Balaji Mohan. The film shooting has been progressing at a brisk pace. If reports are to be believed, Sai Pallavi will be playing the role of an auto driver in the film. Its seems to be an interesting role as it has never been portrayed by any of the leading ladies in the film industry. Sai Pallavi known for her acting prowess is said to have undergone training to drive an auto, to get into the skin of her character. Fans have been excited to see her as an auto driver on screen ever since the news broke. However an official confirmation is awaited on the same.

Maari 2 is the sequel to 2015 film Maari. Malayalam actor Tovino Thomas plays a pivotal role. Music by Yuvan Shankar Raja. The film is produced by Dhanush's Wunderbar Films.
