The shooting of G.V. Prakash, R. Parthiepan starrer Kuppathu Raja (titled after the 1987 Rajinikanth starrer) has been wrapped up. The makers are planning to release the movie in May during summer holdiays.

The movie is touted to be a commercial entertainer, based on the lives of slum dwellers. Kuppathu Raja is directed by Baba Bhaskar. The film has music score by GV Prakash and cinematography by Mahesh Muthuswami. It is bankrolled by Saravanan and Siraj.
