Mersal completes 100days in theaters today. It's running a show in Abirami Cinemas, Chennai. Fans are also planning celebratory shows in prominent theaters across the state. As we know, Mersal did a WW gross of more than 250 CR and sits pretty as Thalapathy Vijay's career best by far. This kind of WW gross is truly a dream figure. In TN, the film has grossed around 125 CR and has comfortably crossed Enthiran's long standing mark. Only the almighty Baahubali2 lies ahead of Mersal in TN.

The Diwali release date, the commercially packed nature of the film, peppy songs by Rahman, Thalapathy Vijay's superb screen presence as 'Thalapathy', his 3 roles and director Atlee's smart inclusion of emotional moments and social messages, worked wonders for the film's result.
