The Sketch team had a success meet at the Leela Palace hotel in Chennai, yesterday evening. Except Tamannaah and DoP Sukumar, the rest of the team was present. Here are some key highlights from this event,

• Kalaipuli Thanu said that the Telugu dubbed version shall release on Jan 26. He also said that the Hindi remake rights of Sketch are much in demand. Thanu also said that director Vijay Chander is free to do another film for the same Sketch producers.

• Chiyaan Vikram also doubled up as the event's host in his inimitable style. He apologized to Soori for having some of his comedy scenes removed from the film. He went on to say that he is ready to make up to Soori by acting as a comedian in a film with Soori as the hero. Vikram also had high words of praise for composer Thaman by saying that his BGM is another 'kathanayagan' of the film and that all reviews had good words to say about the film's music. Vikram said that 'Kanave Kanave' was the film's starting point and added that he wanted to sing it as soon as he heard Thaman's tune.

• Thaman was emotional while talking about director Vijay Chander and expressed belief that the two will go a long way and emerge as a solid combination like Gautham Menon and Harris Jayaraj.

• Thaman also said that he was a great fan of Chiyaan Vikram and that he looked up to Chiyaan as a mentor and inspiration. He recollected his 'Boys' days when he slogged hard to learn dance by grooving to 'Gemini Gemini' for about 90 days.

Sketch has had a steady opening, aided big time by the Pongal holidays. The 5-days TN gross is around 14.5 CR , with the Chennai city gross being 2.17 CR. The film's real test shall begin today after the long period of holidays. Meanwhile, the overseas collections of Sketch are poor!
