Hardly exciting

Vikram looks like the right man at the wrong place. You wonder about his thought process in choosing films. What could have caught his attention in the script? To be fair you recollect the plot and it actually has potential. But nothing interesting is churned out on screen. The casting, apart from Vikram and his friends is a huge letdown. None of them even register their presence for a minute. There is a build up scene for a police officer where they project him as someone like Bramma (Yog Japee) in Soodhu Kavvum. But then the character does nothing interesting throughout the film. (more)

Even Vikram can't save this archaic action entertainer

Sketch is definitely going down as one of the worst films in Vikram's career. Despite being around for over two decades, it's disappointing that he takes audiences for granted and feels he can get away with such a mediocre product.(more)

SKETCH MOVIE REVIEW

A template film, Sketch, which solely relies on Vikram, works in parts. The actor has done an effortless job in pulling off his role. All the actors have done justice to their characters. Thaman's contribution stands out next in the movie, thanks to his songs and BGM. However, the placement of the songs spoils the mood. The romantic scenes do not appear convincing as the heroine's character lacks proper development. Fight sequences, intriguing pre-interval and unexpected pre-climax portions add weightage to the otherwise okayish film, which has a message, too, towards the end. (more)

Just one question, why Vikram why?

I am still wondering why Vikram agreed to the film. The actor's screen presence is the only reason why I was looking at the screen. His swagger and good looks are admirable but Sketch isn't a role for someone of his calibre. This is the man from Pithamagan and Deivathirumagal. I even quite enjoyed his more 'massy' performances in Dhool and Samy. But Sketch not only reduces him to a template, it makes him shoulder more clichs. Painful.(more)

A movie with mass Vikram moments that would work well with his fans.

There is an unexpected twist towards the climax that will surely surprise all audiences, so if you're a fan of Vikram and/or surprises, you can go ahead and pottufy a Sketch!(more)
