Sources within DTH service provider networks have revealed that they have received a notification from RaajKamal Films International that the DTH screening of the movie in all three languages is now scheduled for February 2. An official announcement is expected to be made on Friday. 

Terms of Agreement between TNTOA and DTH

The terms of the negotiation struck with the theatre owners and distributors are starting to become clear with this late breaking news. Initially, the theatre owners were pushing for DTH release happening 5 weeks after the theatrical release. Kamal was steadfast on releasing a day before theatrical release. The compromise was finally reached to have the DTH release a week after theatrical release. This is expected to appease most of the business stakeholders involved. 

As per earlier announcement, the theatrical release of the movie will happen on January 25. The theatre owners have agreed to offer full support by allocating a minimum of over 450 screens across Tamil Nadu.

Price Correction

Also due to poor sign-ups for the first round of announcement targeted for January 10th release, DTH providers have advised Kamal to downward revise the price from Rs 1,000. The price announcement is expected to happen after the official announcement of the DTH release date.
