Mamootty not a part of Rajinikanth's Kaala

Actor Rajinikanth's 164th film Kaala which is being directed by Pa. Ranjith was recently in the news for Malayalam star Mammootty grabbing a role in it. But sources close to the actor have confirmed that the star was never approached for a role in the first place. Needless to say this news has left many a fan following dejected as they were expecting a reunion of the cult Thalapathy pair on-screen. While Rajinikanth continues to film for Kaala at Mumbai, Mamootty on the other hand is filming for his upcoming movie Masterpiece with Ajay Vadudev. 

Kaala is the production venture of Dhanush's Wunderbar Films and also stars Huma Quershi, Eashwari Rao, Anjali Patil, Samuthirakani, Pankaj Tripathi, Arvind Akash among others. The film is expected to hit theatre screens in the second half of 2018.
