Baahubali 2 grosses Rs 500 crore from the opening weekend

SS Rajamouli's Baahubali 2 has been creating box office records all over the world. Trade pundits have now revealed that the movie had grossed Rs 500 crore worldwide from the opening weekend, which is the highest for any Indian film so far.

From India, the movie grossed a whopping figure of Rs 374.5 crore. While Andhra Pradesh and Telangana together accounted for Rs 105 crore, North India contributed Rs 182 crore. The movie also did exceptionally well in Karnataka (Rs 38 crore), Tamil Nadu (Rs 31.5 crore) and Kerala (Rs 18 crore).

In the overseas locations, the movie amassed Rs 126.5 crore with the majority coming from North America (Rs 68 crore). Gulf countries collected Rs 25 crore, while Australia and New Zealand together collected Rs 8.5 crore. The movie has also been running successfully in UK, France, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Nepal and many more countries.
