Thaandavam pushes for a big release this Friday

UTV is leaving no stone unturned with 410 prints in Tamil Nadu and 80 in Kerala (Telugu will be delayed by a week). With last week's releases Charulatha and Saatttai both biting the dust, Vikram's Thaandavam has its task cut out very clearly.

Thaandavam is sandwiched from two fronts. One is Sundarapandian still holding steady with family and neutral fans in A, B and C centers. On the second front is Maattrraan's expected release on October 12 resulting in exhibitors cutting down shows and removing from majority of the screens just within two weeks allowing only a short window of unobstructed box-office run.

In order to partly overcome these challenges, Thaandavam's newest trailer leaves nothing to imagination by explicitly claiming that the movie will be a commercial entertainer with medley of action, comedy, love, family, friendship and all ingredients catering to family audience. The objective of this newly cut Thaandavam trailer is to divert the huge wave of neutral and family audience to the theatres during the first week itself to ensure the profits can be made promptly. The new trailer goes to the extent of inserting a forced/contrived "Thala" dialogue mouthed by Nasser and Santhanam. Fans are surprised to see Vikram's movie openly seeking for Thala Ajith fans support in order to get a massive opening.
