Earlier today, the news of Netflix increasing its prices had created unrest among its users in India, who are currently enjoying the OTT platform's services for as low as Rs. 199 per month. However the increase in Netflix's standard and premium plans have been announced only for its US base and currently the Indian prices stand unchanged as follows:

The unrest wasn't baseless though. At the beginning of October, 2020 Netflix had brought an end to its a-month-free-trail that it had previously used to attract new users worldwide. Also Netflix's prices have more or less been within a similar price range through markets, even though they are country-specific. [E.g. Rs. 500+ price range in India and $10+ price in the US]

Currently, the new pricing for the US standard plan has seen a $1 price increase (from $13 a month), while the new premium tier cost is priced at $2 more (from $16 a month).
