Uchithanai Muharnthaal gets a small re-release

Uchithanai Muharnthaal re-releases today in Chennai Multiplexes

Uchithanai Muharnthal released in December 2011 but failed to make an impression due to seriousness of topic and lack of promotions. Gemini Film Circuit is trying to get a wider reach for Uchithanai Muharnthal this time by re-releasing it in big multiplexes. In the past, only other movie that is known for becoming a Hit after re-release was Chithiram Pesuthadi. The movie went unnoticed the first time when it was released. But, Aascar films saw the potential in that movie, bought the rights, strategically promoted the "Vaala Meenu" song before re-releasing it. That move gave Tamil cinema a talented director, Mysskin.

Uchithanai Muharnthaal, a critically acclaimed emotional tragic  drama which dealt with a sensitive issue of war in Sri Lanka where a 13 year old girl who undergoes turmoil in the struggle becomes a victim of gang rape by Sri Lankan army. This film had Sathyaraj, Nasser, Seeman, Sangeetha and Child Artist Neenika. This film was directed by Pugazendhi Thangaraj.
