Kolaveri Team lectures IIM students 


Kolaveri has set the standards for effective Viral marketing. Now, it is also seriously taken as a case study for aspiring marketers in various B-schools across India as well as in a few foreign universities. Dhanush & Anirudh were invited to IIM-A India's most prestigious & top reputed Management Institute at Ahmedabad. They were asked to share on the successful strategies regarding the strategies adopted for getting maximum wide spread globally for Kolaveri.

Speaking on the topic of viral marketing, Dhanush confided that much of it was unplanned. Dhanush said "Success of Kolaveri can't be replicated; it can only happen. It can never be replicated," They initially aimed at about 500,000 hits over the song's lifetime, but it touched that number just in five days! Now the hits for Kolaveri Di on Tuesday stand at over 42 million. Dhanush said that Viral Marketing, if capitalized right, is indeed a great way to gain popularity, given the minimal promotional expenses.

 

Later, Anirudh spoke about issues related to music rights for films in India, highlighting there is an absence of a proper system for royalty to the artists and producers, unlike western countries. Anirudh also mentioned on a funny note that his father, who acts as Siddharth's father in Kadhalil Sodhapavadhu Yeppadi, was speechless when he heard his son would be lecturing IIM students.


Both Dhanush and Anirudh were extremely happy with the students for asking sensible questions. Dhanush and Anirudh ended the lecture on a high note by singing Kolaveri Di with the students.

 

Massive Worldwide Release Soon of 3


Dhanush also mentioned 3(Three) will be a Tri-lingual film releasing in Tamil, Telugu & Hindi by a month or two . He said initially they had planned to release the film with around 400 prints now that the expectations & awareness about the film has reached peaks  so he will see to that the film releases with a massive 1000 prints worldwide.
