Lingaa Preview - SWOT Analysis

Come December 12, you have a legitimate reason to take off from office, college or school. Yes, when a Superstar's film releases, it is a duty for every ardent fan to catch up with the First Day First Show. KS Ravikumar has teamed up with Rajinikanth for Lingaa, after giving two blockbusters -- Muthu and Padayappa with him. Sonakshi Sinha is making her debut in Tamil industry with this film, while Anushka plays the other leading lady. AR Rahman has scored music for the film.

Strengths

• Rajinikanth's last live action film was Enthiran, which released 4 years ago. Although Kochadaiyaan released earlier this year, the movie could not satisfy his diehard fans, who want to see him perform in his trademark style.

• KS Ravikumar is known for making commercial entertainers, that would strike a chord with the audience across all centres. The humongous success of Muthu and Padayappa stand a testimony to this fact. With Lingaa revolving around a saviour helping people in need, Rajinikanth will ace in this role hands down.

• The movie has a stellar star cast that includes Anushka, Sonakshi Sinha, Santhanam and Karunakaran. With such a cast coming together, the movie will ultimately have grandeur entertainment value.

• Rathnavelu a.k.a Randy is in charge of cinematography and going by the trailer, the movie is expected to have some breathtaking stunt sequences. AR Rahman's background score would also come in handy during such sequences. 

Weaknesses

• Many music buffs rated Lingaa songs as the weakest album of AR Rahman in recent times. We will have to wait and see if the opinion changes when the songs are listened with the visuals.

• Rajinikanth's make-up doesn't look up to the mark and the song sequences might remind one of Sivaji's songs.

Opportunities

• This movie's success would encourage Rajinikanth to act in more quickies in the coming years, and it would mean that we will get to see a new Rajinikanth's film every year, which has not been happening in this millennium.

Final Words

Lingaa will set new benchmarks for BO opening. And, the movie releasing on Rajinikanth's birthday makes it extra-special. Get ready to celebrate the biggest Superstar!
