Who will be the Queen in South?

Queen starring Kangana Ranaut in the lead role, produced by Viacom18 Motion Pictures, was a runaway hit in Bollywood. The story is about a girl from a traditional family who sets out on a solo honeymoon. The leading lady Kangana Ranaut won laurels for her performance from all quarters. 

The film is now all set to be remade in South. Veteran actor-filmmaker Thiagarajan has acquired the remake rights of the movie, which will now be made in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. Ajit Andhare, chief operation officer, Viacom18 Motion Pictures, said in a statement: “Queen is a universal story. It resonates across cultures. The trend has always been for south Indian films to be adapted in Hindi. We’re proud to have turned the tables, where a Bollywood entertainer will be consumed in the four major south Indian languages.”

Ever since Thiagarajan acquired the remake rights of the film, speculations are rife on who will be reprising the role of Kangana in the south remake. While Thiagarajan is yet to decide on the cast, the names of Nayanthara, Trisha, Samantha, and Taapse are already doing the rounds. We need to wait to know who is the lucky queen!
