No Tax Exemption for Naan Sigappu Manithan
Naan Sigappu Manithan starring Vishal and Lakshmi Menon in the lead roles is directed by Thiru. It is set to hit the screens on April 11. The film has been censored with an U/A certificate.
The censor board had awarded U/A certificate to the film and had insisted on removing a lip lock scene between Vishal and Lakshmi Menon to get an U certificate. The makers who were determined to retain the particular scene in the film had approached the revising committee to get an 'U' certificate so that the film can get entertainment tax exemption. The revising committee after watching the film has recommended U/A certificate initially given by the Censor Board. The film will now release with an U/A certificate.
Dhananjayan of UTV has tweeted, "So, here is final. NSM releases on 11th April with U/A as we do not wish to dilute the impact of the screenplay/film. Vishal and Thiru felt that for tax exemption,we should not compromise on screenplay's impact."
The makers will have to pay 30% of gross collection as entertainment tax as the film has been censored with U/A certificate.
Music by GV Prakash. The film is produced by Vishal Film Factory and UTV.
