Arjun and Abhirami's reunion in the upcoming action drama Blast carries a special weight. The two last shared screen space in Vaanavil (2000), making their collaboration in Blast a full-fledged comeback after 25 years.

At a recent press interaction, Arjun recalled how Abhirami could barely speak Tamil when they first worked together, communicating mostly in Malayalam and broken Tamil. "But now she speaks Tamil wonderfully and has created many achievements as an actress," he said warmly. Abhirami, equally moved by the occasion, described it as an unforgettable moment and laughingly admitted she has no idea why it took 25 years for them to share the screen again.

Directed by Manoj Kumar, Vaanavil featured the duo as UPSC aspirants navigating both their ambitions and a romantic relationship, with Prakash Raj also starring in the film.

Blast, written and directed by debutant Subash K Raj, also stars Preity Mukhundhan and is set to release on May 28.
