Release Date Reshuffle: Jailer 2 Targets September 11 As Toxic Eyes August Window

Two of the most awaited South Indian films are reportedly heading for a release date reshuffle. Rajinikanth's Jailer 2 is said to be moving away from its earlier August 14 date to target the Ganesh Chaturthi weekend on September 11, a festive window that could work strongly in the film's favour across Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and the Telugu states. Director Nelson's sequel has already built massive anticipation on the back of the original's blockbuster run.

The reported shift could open up the August window for Yash's Toxic, which has been without a confirmed release date since its earlier plans of March 19 and June 4 fell through. Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic has kept its buzz alive through the scale of its production and Yash's long-awaited return after the KGF franchise. Industry circles are now pointing to August as a likely landing spot, with reports also suggesting the delay was tied to plans for a wider global rollout.

Neither production house has officially confirmed the revised dates as yet.
