Sivakarthikeyan's Seyon does not oppose any belief system but instead respects all deities - director

Sivakarthikeyan's Seyon 'does not oppose any belief system but instead respects all deities'says director

Ahead of the release of Thaai Kizhavi, actor Sivakarthikeyan unveiled the glimpse of his upcoming film Seyon, marking his second collaboration with director Sivakumar Murugesan. While Sivakarthikeyan is presenting Thaai Kizhavi, which marks the filmmaker’s directorial debut, Seyon is being backed by Raaj Kamal Films International, the banner of Kamal Haasan.

Although plot details remain under wraps, the title glimpse featured Sivakarthikeyan arriving at a police station during a village’s Maasi Kalari festival, where he is treated in a god-like manner following a chaotic incident. A police officer refers to him as Lord Virumaandi, referencing Kamal Haasan’s iconic Virumaandi.

Speaking to reporters outside a theatre after the release of Thaai Kizhavi, Sivakumar Murugesan explained that the story revolves around communities that worship both Virumaandi and Murugan. He clarified that the film does not oppose any belief system but instead respects all deities, adding that audiences will fully experience its intent only on the big screen.

Seyon marks Sivakarthikeyan’s second collaboration with Raaj Kamal Films International after Amaran. The rural entertainer has music composed by Santhosh Narayanan, marking his first association with both the banner and the actor. The remaining cast and crew are expected to be announced soon, with the makers confirming a theatrical release in October this year.

Following Seyon, Sivakarthikeyan has also confirmed that he will reunite with Sivakumar Murugesan once again for a third project.
