Dawn Pictures is a Tamil film production banner that made their debut in Kollywood last year with the Dhanush directed Idli Kadai (2025) starring Dhanush, Arun Vijay, Nithya Menen, Sathyaraj, Shalini Pandey, P Samuthirakani, Rajkiran, Geetha Kailasam among others.

In 2026, Dawn Pictures has come out with another multi-starrer, the Sudha Kongara directed Parasakthi starring Sivakarthikeyan, Ravi Mohan, Atharvaa Murali, Sreeleela, and Telugu actor Rana Daggubatti, Malayalam actor Basil Joseph, and Kannada actor Dhananjaya in cameo appearances. 

Dawn Pictures founder Aakash Baskaran took to his official X handle on January 13, 2026 (Tuesday), to express his elation over Superstar Rajinikanth's phone call praising Parasakthi. At the Parasakthi thanksgiving meet held in Chennai today, lead actor Sivakarthikeyan shared, 

"Yesterday (January 12, 2026) morning, my Thalaivar, Superstar Rajinikanth Sir had called. On the call he said, 'Yes Sivakarthikeyan',...'Very bold movie, super second half, super second half' is what he said. He (Rajinikanth) also said that I performed fantastic."

 

Reacting to the same, Parasakthi producer Aakash Baskaran wrote in his X post, "Still processing this moment ♥️♥️♥️Superstar @rajinikanth sir called and wished for Parasakthi, he loved the film🔥🔥🔥This means the world to me🥹🥹". (sic)

Parasakthi distributed by Red Giant Movies in Tamil Nadu, has been enjoying a profitable run in theaters. The movie managaed to gross Rs. 51 Cr+ in its opening weekend worldwide, and is headed towards more collections with the Pongal weekend (January 15 - January 19) coming up.
