Parasakthi (2026) is Tamil star actor Sivakarthikeyan's 25th film which released in theaters worldwide on January 10 (Saturday). In its two-day opening weekend, Parasakthi grossed Rs. 51 Cr+ in global box office collections, and with the Pongal weekend soon approaching from January 15, 2026 (Thursday) to January 19, 2026 (Sunday), the movie is set for a good box-office run in Tamil Nadu theaters.
Team Parasakthi is already celebrating, and Dawn Pictures producer Aakash Baskaran was recently photographed all smiles, presenting bouquets to Sivakarthikeyan, and Parasakthi writer-director Sudha Kongara.

Additionally a Parasakthi 'Thanksgiving Meet' was held on January 13, 2026 where the team met with the press. Sivakarthikeyan took to the dais to speak about the film, and this is how the star defined Parasakathi success:
"Parasakthi isn't a film for a particular age group, it is a film that was made with the intention of reaching everyone. So when I see how Parasakthi has reached, from Gen Z to everyone else, I've been receiving a lot of videos where I saw a small boy say 'long live Tamil, let the fire spread (tagline of the movie Parasakthi)'.
Similarly, an elderly person who had participated in the (anti Hindi) protests (in Tamil Nadu) had emotionally said in a video that these were the protests they were part of. So I believe the film Parasakthi has reached everyone exactly how we had intended.
So a big thanks to all the people who understand why this film was taken, the intention behind Parasakthi, and support it by watching it in theaters. I think the film reaching everyone is the first success for Parasakthi. That has happened. I'm very happy about that.

The second important success for Parasakthi is that the producer (Dawn Pictures Aakash Baskaran) who invested money in the film, and the stakeholders in the business have declared profits on this same stage. I believe that is the second Parasakthi success.
Anything that comes beyond this is bonus for Parasakthi. So thanks to everyone. And the most important thanks to my fans who are my brothers and sisters. (Parasakthi is) My 25th film. You guys celebrating it with more excitement than me was very special. A hearty thanks to everyone who stand by me all the time."
Censored U/A, Parasakthi has Sivakarthikeyan playing Chezhian, a principled and idealistic young man who becomes actively involved in the movement opposing the declaration of Hindi as an official language. Co-starring Ravi Mohan, Atharvaa, Sreeleela among others, Parasakthi has GV Prakash Kumar for music, and comes with a runtime of 2 hours 42 minutes 43 seconds.
