Madras High Court Refuses to Stay Release of Sivakarthikeyan's Parasakthi Amid Plagiarism Allegations

A case has been filed in the Madras High Court alleging that the story of Sivakarthikeyan’s upcoming film Parasakthi was copied without authorisation. The suit, which sought to restrain the release of the film, came up for hearing before the Hon’ble Justice S.M. Subramaniam. The film stars Sivakarthikeyan, Ravi Mohan, and Atharvaa, and is directed by Sudha Kongara.

After hearing detailed arguments from Senior Advocate Aravind Pandian for the producer and R. Singaravelan for the director, both appearing on behalf of Vijayan Subramanian, the Hon’ble Court declined to grant an injunction restraining the film’s release. The Court directed the parties to file their counter affidavits and instructed the Writers’ Association to submit a report on the complaint lodged by the petitioner. The matter has been posted for further hearing on January 2, 2026.
