Director Sundar C has officially stepped out of the highly anticipated film “Thalaivar 173,” which stars Rajinikanth and is produced by Kamal Haasan’s Raaj Kamal Films International.

He cited unforeseen and unavoidable circumstances as the reason for his departure from the project. Sundar C shared that working with Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan was a dream come true, expressing his deep respect for both legends. He also thanked them for considering him for the magnum opus and apologized to fans who were eagerly waiting for the film.

The project is still slated for a theatrical release during Pongal 2027, and the production team is reportedly searching for a new director following Sundar C’s exit.
