Delhi HC Restrains Use of 'Bro Code' Title for Ravi Mohan's film
The Delhi High Court has stopped Ravi Mohan Studios from using the title "Bro Code" for its new Tamil movie. This came after Indospirit Beverages, which owns the BroCode beer brand, filed a trademark case. The court said using the same name could confuse people and harm the brand’s image. The studio must change or drop the title in all promotions until the case ends. The order is valid till November 21, 2025.
Meanwhile, the Madras High Court had earlier supported Ravi Mohan Studios, saying film titles are different from beverage trademarks. The director, Karthik Yogi, had already registered the title and script last year.
Right now, the two courts have opposite orders — the Delhi HC has banned the title, while the Madras HC has allowed its use for now. The final decision will come after November 21, 2025.
