Kantara: Chapter 1 is Kannada-language period mythological action drama that released in theaters on October 2, 2025. The film written, directed, headlined by Rishab Shetty, and produced by Vijay Kiragandur and Chaluve Gowda under Hombale Films has grossed Rs. 89 Cr. on day 1 of worldwide box office collections. 

This makes Kantara: Chapter 1 the current ninth-highest grossing Kannada film of all time. A prequel to the 2022 film Kantara (2022), Kantara: Chapter 1 delves deeper into the origins of the mythological tradition and ancestral conflict introduced in the first film.

The movie also stars Jayaram, Rukmini Vasanth, Gulshan Deviah among others, and has B Ajaneesh Loknath for music. Kantara: Chapter 1 is also running in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, Bengali, English languages, and comes with a runtime of 186 minutes.
