Kantara: Chapter 1 - Rishab Shetty Reacts to Viral Kantara Sankalpa Pledge
After Rishab Shetty gave audiences a grand spectacle with Kantara in 2022, expectations for the sequel were naturally high. The trailer for Kantara: Chapter 1 has now been released.
In the middle of this excitement, a surprising trend appeared among fans. A section of viewers formed what they call the “Kantara Sankalpa.” It is a pledge of three steps before watching the film. They vow to avoid alcohol, smoking, and non-vegetarian food until the theatrical experience. A Google form is also being shared online, promising a “certificate of participation.”
This is the poster that went viral, but the film’s team has denied any connection with it.
This pledge, however, is entirely fan-driven and not linked to the filmmakers. Rishab Shetty clarified his stand, saying he was shocked when he saw the “no smoking, no alcohol, and no meat” poster. He checked with the production team and confirmed that it was fake, created just for attention. He added that the makers have nothing to do with it.
"#KantaraChapter1: I got shocked when I saw no smoking, no alcohol, and no meat Poster😳. In fact I cross checked with the production too🤝. Someone has fakely posted it to get popularity, we don't even want to react for that fake poster❌"

Because the poster carried the movie’s logo and design, many mistook it for official publicity. The filmmakers denied any association with it. While people are free to follow personal choices, presenting them as film rules is misleading.
Many viewers have also criticised the idea, pointing out that cinema is about storytelling, not about food or lifestyle choices. Kantara: Chapter 1 may explore spiritual and mythological themes, but making it into a ritualistic pledge is unnecessary. Fans are advised to verify such claims before believing or spreading them further.
