Thug Life starring Kamal Haasan, Silambarasan TR, Trisha, among others is a Mani Ratnam directed movie that is all set to release on June 5, 2025. Thug Life had a trailer release today at 5 in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi languages.

Prior to Thug Life trailer's release, a synopsis of the movie suggested that Kamal Haasan plays a crime boss named Rangaraya Shakthivel Naicker, and Silambarasan TR his son Amar. How Kamal Haasan is perceived to be dead at one point, but comes back alive to face his son in a battle was also in Thug Life's synopsis. 

Thug Life trailer more or less confirms this to be the film's plotline. The trailer additionally showcases that Silambarasan TR is Kamal Haasan's adopted son, whereas Nassar is Kamal Haasan's crime-business aide. Abhirami and Trisha play Kamal Haasan's wife and lover respectively. 

Thug Life is jointly written by Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam. The movie's trailer and plotline are reminiscent of Mani Ratnam's another multi-starrer movie Chekka Chivantha Vaanam (2018), which incidentally also had Silambarasan TR in its cast.
