Jailer starring Rajinikanth in the lead is the highest grossing Tamil film of the year 2023, and the blockbuster hit released in Japan for the first time on February 21, 2025. As Jailer completes 20 days of run in Japan theaters, it has been officially updated that Jailer will continue to run past the 20-day mark. 

Space Box, the distributor of Jailer in Japan updated via X, "Screenings at Cine Libre Ikebukuro and Theatre Umeda will end on Thursday, March 13th...However...Kineka Omori is continuing the film ‼️". After March 16, 2025, Jailer will be showcased only at this Kineka Omori theater, while new screens are expected to be added for the movie towards late March. 

Kagoshima Gardens Cinema is another theater in Japan that will end Jailer screenings after March 15, 2025. Written, and directed by Nelson Dhilipkumar, Jailer is a production venture of Sun Pictures. The film with Anirudh for music, revolves around a retired prison guard, who sets out on a quest for revenge after his police official son goes missing while investigating a smuggling case.
