Sun Pictures has officially announced that the shooting of Jailer 2 starring Superstar Rajinikanth in the lead, has begun on February 10, 2025. Jailer 2, the sequel to Nelson Dilipkumar directed blockbuster hit Jailer (2023), was officially announced in January this year.

The movie sees the return of the blockbuster combination, Rajinikanth, Nelson Dilipkumar, music composer Anirudh Ravichander, and Sun Pictures production house once again. Jailer 2 like the first movie, is a massive budget production. 

Director Nelson Dilipkumar was paid Rs. 55 Cr. in advance for the sequel, and the filmmaker has hinted of amping Jailer 2's action to international standards, in the film's announcement teaser. 

Jailer 2 also sees the return of comedian Yogi Babu, and cinematographer Vijay Karthik Kannan. The film has Chetan D'souza for action.
