If buzz in the Tamil film industry is anything to go by, then a possible box-office clash between actors Vikram and Suriya awaits this May 1, 2025. Gautham Vasudev Menon directed Dhruva Natchathiram is a long delayed Tamil film which is once again in the news for potentially releasing on May 1, 2025. Dhruva Natchathiram was originally written for Suriya, and the actor famously dropped out of the project back in 2013 causing a lifelong rift between himself and Gautham Menon.
Dhruva Natchathiram was revived with Vikram in 2015, and the spy action thriller has remained unreleased since. The box-office success of Madha Gaja Raja, a 2025 Tamil release which hit theater screens 10 years since it was made, has given hope to a lot of unreleased movies in Kollywood, and Dhruva Natchathiram is the latest to show signs of locking a release date.

Ironically, Suriya starrer Retro which is also a self production for the actor is also releasing on May 1, 2025. A stray rumour suggests that Retro might get postponed from its scheduled Labour day release.

Dhruva Natchathiram on the other hand is currently in the hands of distributor and theater owner Thiruppur Subramaniam, who is hosting multiple screens of the Vikram-Gautham Menon film, so that distributors across Tamil Nadu would pick up the movie for a May 1 release.
