Amaran, an upcoming biopic on Major Mukund Varadarajan is slated to release in theaters worldwide on October 31, 2024. This Diwali release is all the buzz right now, and Mukund Varadarajan's surviving wife Indhu Rebecca Varghese has been spotted promoting the movie on several occasions. Amaran teasers and trailer too have indicated that the movie is as much about Mukund's time in the military, as it is about his personal life.

However Sai Pallavi recently revealed in an interview that she was skeptical about her screen-time in a male-dominated biopic film. Hence she resorted to taking a written agreement from Amaran director Rajkumar Periyasamy about not cutting her agreed-upon portions. Rajkumar Periyasamy has worked with Sai Pallavi since the time she was a reality TV contestant, and the actress says because of this, she could take this advantage with him. 

“Most of the time, in biopics or male-driven films, the makers easily cut out the portions of the heroine. They can cite length issues, and go ahead with the same. So, I asked Amaran director Rajkumar to give it to me in writing that he won’t do such things,

 

..Of course, I could take that liberty with him, and he assured me that my character of Indhu Rebecca Varghese is as important as Major Mukund Varadarajan’s role in Amaran.” 

 

Actor Sivakarthikeyan too has maintained that though Amaran is a film about one person, the story is about two characters, Mukund Varadarajan, and his wife Indhu Rebecca Varghese. 'India Today' quotes the actor as stating,

"Amaran is about two characters played by Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi. Both of us have equal weight. In my other films, I’d be the anchor and have other people around me. But, in this film, I get to be everyone..

 

Amaran is about Major Mukund Varadarajan’s life from his young days till his last breath.. I wouldn’t have done it if it was just a war film. Amaran will focus on all emotions.."
