Leo starring Vijay in the lead is a 2023 Tamil movie which released in theaters on October 19, 2023, and is currently available to stream on the Netflix OTT platform. A multi-starrer with names like Trisha, Sanjay Dutt among others in its ensemble, Leo is written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and is the third film of the director's own cinematic universe, the LCU. 

Interestingly LCU aka the Lokesh Cinematic Universe in itself is a coup, considering that every film of this franchise (Kaithi, Vikram, Leo) belongs to different production banners. The fan-following for LCU is huge, and Leo and actor Vijay's addition to this franchise had hyped expectations like no other at that time. One of the places this was reflected was the Kerala box-office, where Leo ended up recording the highest opening day gross of Rs. 12 Cr. 

To date, no other non-Malayalam film has been able to break Leo's day 1 record with the Malayalam cine audience. Leo's day 1 Kerala box-office is now a benchmark for film distributors in the state, and this was acknowledged recently by E4 Entertainment's Mukesh Mehta who is presenting Allu Arjun's Telugu sequel Pushpa 2: The Rule on December 5, 2024.

Leo was distributed in Kerala by Sree Gokulam Movies. They had acquired the Kerala distribution rights for Rs. 15 Cr. from Leo producers Seven Screen Studio. Leo ended up collecting Rs. 60 Cr. at the Kerala box-office. Leo was one of the highest grossing Tamil movies of the year 2023.
