Amaran Audio Launch to air on Vijay TV! Highlights from the event:

[Updated: October 25, 2024] Amaran starring Sivakarthikeyan in the lead is an upcoming biographical war film, which is based on late Indian army major Mukund Varadarajan from Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The movie is based on a chapter narrated by Mukund V's commanding officer (CO) in the book India's Most Fearless - True Stories of Modern Military Heroes (2017) by Rahul Singh and Shiv Aroor. Amaran releases in theaters this Diwali on October 31, 2024 (Thursday). 

 

A production venture of Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal Films International (RKFI) and Sony Pictures, Amaran with GV Prakash for music, had a grand audio launch event at a private college in Chennai on October 18, 2024 (Friday) evening. Amaran's writer, director Rajkumar Periyasamy and his whole cast and crew, along with Mukund V's surviving wife and daughter were in attendance at the event. Mukund V's wife Indu Rebeca Varghese is played by Sai Pallavi in Amaran.  

 

 

Amaran audio launch is set to be aired on Star Vijay Television channel on October 27, 2024 (Sunday) at 3 PM. In the meantime, some Amaran audio launch highlights: 

 

 

Real Indu Rebecca Varghese's speech: "I’m always happy to be in Tamil Nadu because TN gave me Mukund. Now I love TN even more because of the love they are showering on Mukund and (the Indian) Army".

Rapper, lyricist Arivu speech: "Sivakarthikeyan is a big hope for people from middle class and lower middle class that they can dream of achieving in big artforms."

Speech of Colonel Saravanan who worked in major Mukund Varadharajan’s team: "The entire family of Mukund Varadharajan is proud of him. Even the entire Indian Army is proud of him. After watching the Amaran movie,every single person will be proud of him."


Colonel Saravanan has also worked with the director Rajkumar Periyasamy during the making of Amaran. He added that Sivakarthikeyan has trained with real AK47 guns for the movie. Also, Colonel Saravanan is taking efforts to show the movie to every single Indian Army men out there, as it is 'the best army based film Indian cinema has ever made'. 

 

Choreographer Sheriff speech: "There are absolutely no dance movements in the songs of this film. But I enjoyed taking a lot of lovely montages with Sivakarthikeyan. I worked in Ungalil Yaar Adutha Prabhu Deva show in Vijay TV, Sai Pallavi contested in that and Rajkumar Periasamy directed it. Now very happy that we are all working in this movie together."

Chief Guest Mani Ratnam's speech: "I’m very happy this movie got made, Mukund has saved the lives of many unknown people like us. Now we are all gonna get to know about him. Sivakarthikeyan - there are many actors, directors who suddenly come and become a big name. And there are technicians like me - who take it step by step to succeed. You are like me Siva. Sai Pallavi - I’m a big fan, I hope I get to work with you one day."

Actress Sai Pallavi speech: "Before coming to cinema, I didn’t know names of directors. But Mani Ratnam is the one director’s name I have always known. He is one of the reasons that I’m picky about the scripts and roles I choose. I thought I’m taking time to select films. But it’s been more than 7 years since Rajkumar Periyasamy made his previous film.Sivakarthikeyan is the best choice to act as major Mukund Varadharajan. I just saw a banner outside that said ‘Enga Veettu Chella Pillai’ - which proves the audience will not feel distant about the story. They will own it."

Before Sai Pallavi leaves the stage, Sivakarthikeyan is handed a mic at the place he’s sitting. Sai Pallavi and Sivakarthikeyan recreate ‘Mukundhe’, ‘Hoi Mammooty!' from the film. 

 

Chief guest Lokesh Kanagaraj's speech: "Amaran not a typical festival film. Someone from our town has gone and sacrificed his life for our country and people. It’s a pride and this film is gonna make us all proud. I recently heard how Kamal sir watched this movie, with a box of tissues as the film was that impactful."

On collaboration with Sivakarthikeyan, Lokesh Kanagaraj said at the Amaran audio launch event, "We've been speaking about it for quite some time now. Soon. Sivakarthikeyan has received the gun in his hands know? (a reference to Sivakarthikeyan's cameo in The Greatest of All Time, where soon to be politician Vijay symbolically hands over the gun/his place in the movies before leaving)"

 

Amaran director Rajkumar Periyasamy speech: "I’ve spent the past 5 years for Amaran, for the research, script and making this film. I’m happy (V Creations) Thanu sir is here. He is my first producer, I worked as an AD in Thuppakki (2012). Vijay TV Mahendran sir is the one who recommended me to AR Murugadoss sir for Thuppakki. I wished to become a director only after watching Mani Ratnam sir’s Thalapathy (1991). This Diwali will be a celebration, as this movie will celebrate the true hero major Mukund Varadharajan. Everybody will talk that we worked so hard to make this film, but one thing which I’m thinking that we are not worthy to say so as me, Sivakarthikeyan are all privileged to live right now. But a family here has lost an important asset, so as Indian army. He is the one who has struggled for real.

I love GV Prakash sir. Initially, the film had a different set of songs. But a couple of months back when I showed him the first copy, he told he is going to rework completely after watching the film. All the songs we are hearing now are composed in the last 40 days. Sai Pallavi has made creators responsible to write worthy female roles.Everyone has a question that how did Sivakarthikeyan become such a big thing now. I knew him from the days he was getting Rs. 5K for 2-3 shows put together. He was living in a small apartment with 9 guys. They will watch all language movies and appreciate them as he is a big fan. I think that is the utmost quality for a hero and that’s why his fan troops are increasing day by day.


My thoughts right now: I’m feeling how great major Mukund Varadharajan sir is. Even after dying, he is so useful to many people like us. And an example of his pure soul is, his chief commanding officer is having a picture of him and Mukund saluting the Indian flag as his phone wallpaper till date. Shows how Mukund has respected his team."

 

Actor Sivakarthikeyan Speech at Amaran Audio Launch: "Giving me a hand when I fall, Patting me when I get up, My fans who are always with me as my brothers and sisters, I learnt about Mukund sir in the news.. But when Rajkumar narrated this story, it was very disturbing.. This film was not done because of the ending.. This is about the journey of him.. He is a Good leader..

 

 

2 years ago Prince (2022) released for Diwali and it didn’t do well. With that mindset, I met Thala Ajith sir at a get together of friends. He welcomed me by shaking my hands. The first thing he said was, "Welcome to the Big Leagues". When I looked at #Ajith sir confused, he said that if many people look at your growth, and feel insecure about it, then you are into the big leagues. Welcome, is what Ajith Kumar said. He is my senior, he could have easily said you should do this, do that (after a flop). But when he said that what I understood was, 'a film is not good' is the right criticism, and we should work to rectify the film (in the future). But if the criticism is 'you are finished', then don't believe it is what I understood from Sir that day.

Kamal Haasan sir knows that I’m a Thalaivar Superstar Rajinikanth fan. He didn't keep that in mind and encouraged me a lot. That's why he's in that place. Thalaivar Superstar Rajinikanth will watch this film on first day itself. That's the bond between them (Rajini-Kamal). They are the real Aboorva Sagodharargal.

Just like Bigg Boss (from the reality TV show), director Rajkumar Periyasamy took me to Kashmir for 100 days. Interval block of Amaran was shot at night in Kashmir. Before even saying action they said cut, they came to me and said 'don't shoot the gun now, shoot after action is said'. I told them that I didn't shoot on purpose, it was my shaking hands that did.

I saw Sai Pallavi in Premam (2015). Just like everyone I too became a fan of 'Malar teacher'. When I called her to talk about her performance, she said, 'Thank you so much anna (big brother)'.. She is a big brand today. GV Prakash and I will be joining hands soon for another project after Amaran."
