TJ Gnanavel directed Vettaiyan starring Rajinikanth, Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil among others had a trailer release marking the ocaasion of Gandhi Jayanti 2024. While the prevue/Vettaiyan teaser established that Rajinikanth plays an encounter specialist, and his superior officer Amitabh Bachchan takes a more humane approach towards treating criminals, the Vettaiyan trailer dwells more into their clash of principles.  

A Lyca Productions movie, Vettaiyan has Anirudh Ravichander for music,  SR Kathir for cinematography, Anbariv for action, B Kiruthika for screenplay, and  Philomin Raj for edits. Vettaiyan is scheduled to release on October 10, 2024 in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada languages.
