Andhagan: The Pianist starring actor Prashanth in the lead, was officially announced as an Independence day 2024 release, and was supposed to be one of the many movies releasing in theaters on August 15. However, a recent announcement from Andhagan makers confirms a release plans change, and the new Andhagan release date is August 9, 2024. 

An official remake of Sriram Raghavan's National award winning Hindi black comedy Andhadhun (2018), Andhagan: The Pianist is directed, produced by veteran actor, and Prashanth's father Thiagarajan. The movie has Santhosh Narayanan for music, Sony Music label for audio. 

Andhagan: The Pianist also stars Simran, Priya Anand, Karthik, Urvashi, Yogi Babu, Samuthirani, among others.
