Thangalaan starring actor Vikram in the lead is an upcoming period drama, written, directed and co-produced by Pa. Ranjith. Thangalaan first single titled Minikki Minikki is all set to release on July 17, 2024 (Wednesday) at 5 PM. At this time, film's music composer GV Prakash has amped the arrival of the Thangalaan song by tweeting:

Thangalaan first single is also releasing in Hindi as Murga Murgi, in Malayalam as Midukki Midukki, in Telugu as Manakki Manakki, and in Kannada as Nanagu Nanagu. Junglee music label holds the audio rights to Thangalaan. 

Set against the backdrop of Karnataka's Kolar Gold Fields, Thangalaan has Vikram playing a tribal leader, who is up against the British in their plot to seize his tribe's land for gold mining. The movie is based on real life incidents from the colonial era, and is produced by Studio Green. Thangalaan has Parvathy, Malavika Mohanan playing female leads.
